Bright Smile Motive

1 January 2012

'Bright Smile Motive'(2012), explores the totem, or as Henry Moore termed the 'upright motive' within sculpture. This sculpture was made to sit in the lobby of Canary Wharf-based law firm Clifford Chance, as part of David Ben White's and Justin Hibbs' curated exhibition Temples to the domestic in 2012. The work steers a positively ironic course between corporate interior and merchandising display by aligning with the style and production of 1980's high-Postmodern Sotsass/Memphis furniture design. The sculpture playfully uses LED lights diffused through coloured mouthwash bottles to create a subtle ambient lighting concept.
